The Mother of Hope Foundation Uganda (MOHFU), a community-based non-profit organization located in Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality, is dedicated to empowering local communities through various initiatives, including environmental conservation. In line with this commitment, MOHFU recently conducted a community waste management campaign focusing on solid waste, particularly plastic bottles and polythene bags, in the communities of Kihara Cell, Majengo town center, and Kyondo Cell within Kasese Municipality.Kasese Guide Radio+4motherofhopefoundationuganda.org+4LinkedIn+4
This initiative aligns with MOHFU's core value of conservation and underscores the importance of community involvement in environmental stewardship. The foundation extends its gratitude to the community leaders of Kihara Cell, Majengo town center, and Kyondo Cell for mobilizing residents to actively participate in the campaign. Such collaborative efforts are vital in fostering a sense of collective responsibility for maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Effective waste management is a pressing concern in Kasese Municipality. Reports indicate that irresponsible disposal of plastics has led to blocked drainage systems and other environmental challenges. By championing community-led waste management initiatives, MOHFU aims to address these issues and promote sustainable environmental practices.Uganda Radionetwork+1Kasese Guide Radio+1Next Media
Maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of all community members. MOHFU remains committed to facilitating such initiatives and encourages continued collaboration among residents, community leaders, and local authorities to achieve lasting environmental improvements.
